Brenda Claiborne

Brenda Claiborne love of the arts goes back to her early childhood. She participated in school exhibitions showing off her handy crafts. As Brenda grew older her love for art became tucked away for decades. Later in life she pursued her lost love creating many pieces of works in print, paper, paint, sculpture and photography. To enhance her art, Ms. Claiborne attended Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi in which she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She furthered her studies at Mississippi College where she will be completing her thesis, Telling Stories: Exploring the African-American Experience through the Work of Three Harlem Renaissance Artists. Upon her completion of her degree, Ms. Claiborne will pursue a teaching career in hopes of bringing her love to the classroom and giving her students a means of expressing themselves through art.
