John Parker

John Parker received his BFA from the University of South Florida. During his years he has had the opportunity to live in several different locations. Asheville, NC proved to be a notable location where he produced works for Doors of Asheville, a benefit to raise money for affordable housing. He also completed the sculpture of an interactive faux rock gem mine for an exhibit titled the History of Mining in North Carolina at the Colburn Earth Science Museum. His work won second in a juried exhibition, "Art As If The Earth Mattered" at the AAAC Front Gallery in 2006. He has since produced work for private commission and personal enjoyment. Always building on his technique he is drawn to organic forms, specifically water. But it is not beyond him to diverge from an abstract piece to something realistic and from painting to chainsaw sculpture.
