Cara Walz received her BFA in painting from the University of Kansas in 1990 and her
MFA in performance from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1995. Her art
focuses on experimental play, nature vs. culture, and narrative.
She draws inspiration from the abundance of little things she encounters every day,
including but not limited to: product packaging, books, diagrams, illustrations, movies,
3-second blips of television, Google image searches, and the urban landscape.
Cara is an insomniac, and she prefers small wonders to grand plans. She has made it her life's work to cure the infection that causes perfectly sane people to become obsessed with spectacle.
