Carl Avidano was born in Nebraska in 1981. From an early age, he possessed a deep-seated interest in art, working primarily in pencil, charcoal and pastel.
During the spring of 2006 Carl began his journey as an oil painter. Self-taught, he has already exhibited a unique understanding of the medium, and created a handful of incomparable works. Carl's influences include John Singer Sargent, Johannes Vermeer, and many of the Impressionists.
Due to a life-long handicap called Arthrogryposis, Carl has made the adjustment to holding the brushes in his mouth. This allows him to work on a vertical canvas.
