Chris Blanchard

Originally from Toledo Ohio, I was awarded an art scholarship at the Toledo Museum of Art while in 6th grade. Both my parents and grandfather painted and I got my love of art from them. While I have lived abroad I came to appreciate first hand the art of other cultures and found the experience enriching. It also made me aware of how unique American art can be. I've always been fascinated by American roadside vernacular architecture from the golden age of the automobile. For many here and abroad, it signifies adventure, the open road and economic possibility. I have been working in oils the past few years and studying with nationally known artists Allison Menke, Thomas Jefferson Kitt and Stephen Magsig.
