Christine Heller

Christine Heller has created portraits, murals and installations that reflect her concern for social justice, including a 40-foot mural depicting the plight of Syrian refugees at SUNY Oneonta, Oneonta, NY. as well as three installations protesting the Iraq War. She has painted murals for Roanoke College, Salem, VA, the Munson Williams Proctor Museum of Art, Utica, NY, the Urban Art Fund, Denver, CO, and the Key West Montessori Charter School, Key West, Fl.
She recently published a limited edition portfolio of lithographic prints, Women Vote!, which celebrates suffragists who fought for 70 years to secure the vote for women. This portfolio is in the collections of Smith College, The New York Public Library, Princeton University, Johns Hopkins University, Vassar College and others.
In 2020, she was awarded a “Keep NYS Creating” Grant from NYFA/NYSCA to work on an Artist Book about women whistleblowers.
She has been awarded residencies at Sculpture Space, Utica, NY; Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Amherst, VA; The Studios at Key West, Key West, FL; and she was a visiting artist at Roanoke College, Salem, VA.
