Christopher Carter (born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and raised in Boston, Massachusetts) has an impressive body of creations in a variety of media and disciplines, and produces interactive sculpture, paintings, woodcuts, and various types of installations, both still and kinetic. A man of African-American, Native and European heritage, the blend of ethnic and urban influences is apparent in all of his work. He earned his MFA in Fine Arts from U.C. Berkeley in 1995. His 1988 BFA was from the Maryland Institute of Art in Sculpture and Printmaking. Christopher is also an educator, having taught Fine Arts in the Boston Public School System, design at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. He was a "Visiting Lecturer" at U.C Berkeley and the "Storyboard Instructor" at the Art Institute in San Francisco. Christopher Carter continues to create, exploring new themes and materials in his lifelong pursuit of his art. Christopher’s home and studio is in Miami, Florida, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
