Clarisse was born and raised in the Philippines. She had an established adult life before moving to the United States. She is not art-schooled but is always proud to say that she had been "heART-schooled" all her life. Her focus is making Filipiniana and Baybayin-themed artwork using coffee and other nontraditional stains like wine and tea. She has participated in art shows in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles CA. She is currently completing her diaspora coffee painting series called "Biak: Explorations of Filipino Heritage, Identity, Immigration and Assimilation".
