My formal art education began at Queens College in 1966, in life drawing classes with Charles Cajori. With his encouragement, I applied and was accepted to the Cooper Union School of Art (BFA 1970), where I studied with realist painter Jack Beal and painter/sculptor Sol Lewitt, among other distinguished artists. I have exhibited my paintings since 1974.
In 1989 I attended the School for International Training (Masters Degree in International Administration) in preparation for assignments as an advisor to aspiring artists and craftspeople in Nepal, Haiti and Dominica.
