Cynthia Malamud

Lima, 1980.
Clinical psychology and design define my essence as an artist. Each project begins with a mix of emotions, which develop through a wide array of materials and techniques. The starting point is personal and unconscious, which opens the door for each idea to be processed, transformed, elaborated and solved. The result is a series of unique pieces introjected with feelings.
With the skills and traditions of ancestral weaving, I combine the traditional and modern, past and present. The outcome is a source forming a new path with roots full of energy and power. Cold and warm materials are joined together by hand, a unique conglomerate of membranes transmit different sensations.
