Born in Luxembourg with French and Italian descent, I began my art education in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg followed by Belgium and finally in the U.S at Indiana Southeast University. A strong desire for inspiration and artistic research has led me to travel in various regions of the world which has undeniably shaped the evolution of my work.
My paintings focus on the human figure, obscured by a blurring of surface texture, enhanced colors, and transparency in the layers. I add, remove, and drag the paint in striations across the face to suggest an unfixed nature of identity, creating an obscure effect and capturing a glimpse of the reality beneath. In addition to my figurative works I have created abstract paintings using a similar technique.
My work is owned by public institutions such as Indiana University Southeast and Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, as well as various private collectors. I currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky.
