David Reisman grew up in Rochester, New York and Memphis, Tennessee. He studied painting and printmaking at the University of Kansas and the University of Illinois, art history at the University of Reading in the UK, and education at Columbia University. He has exhibited his artwork in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Berlin, and has published his writing about art in Texte zur Kunst and Frieze. His artwork combines representation and abstraction and also frequently includes text. He lives and works in New York City.
