Deb Cashatt is a full-time studio artist focusing on the art quilt. Combining the words “graphic” and “symbol,” Deb created the word “symbographic.” It is this word that characterizes her pieced and mostly improvisational quilts. Deb lives in the gold country of northern California., but really likes to travel. “I am fortunate to have friends who move to exotic places just so I can visit them,” she says. Memories of these travels, along with objects of everyday life, influence her choice of subject matter. In addition to her solo work, Deb was one half of the fiber art duo Pixeladies for 20 years. Both Pixeladies’ and Deb’s solo artwork, has been published and juried into national and international exhibitions.
