Contemporary realist painter, Frank DePietro, had his first formal experiences working with oil painting during childhood and this became a life-long endeavor. After receiving his Bachelors of Art degree, he moved to Philadelphia, where he studied at many of the renowned area art institutions. Frank continued to live and work in Philadelphia for several years, practicing and experimenting with various techniques and concepts in painting. In 2010, he and his family moved to Kennett Square in Chester County Pennsylvania. He quickly became influenced by the realist tradition of the Brandywine Valley painters. Frank has since set out to combine modernist principles of painting with a realist approach to traditional subject matter.
