Since graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Pennsylvania artist Richard Chandler Hoff has been nationally recognized for his graphite pencil drawings. Hoff’s work has been included in the prestigious Pennsylvania Art of the State Juried Exhibition for four consecutive years. He is also represented in public, private and corporate collections including MBNA Bank (now Bank of America) and the York Hospital/Wellspan Apple Hill Collection.
Lawrence Tolchin, President of the New York Graphic Society compared Hoff’s work to the great American artist Thomas Hart Benton.
In 1987 Richard was awarded Second Place in the American Artist Golden Anniversary Traveling Exhibition. 68 artists were chosen for inclusion from 13,000 entries.
He has been the subject of articles appearing in American Artist Magazine (September 1987) and the first edition of Drawing Magazine (then called Drawing Highlights, Collectors Edition, 1994).
