Efrat (Effi) Baler-Moses

I am an American artist based in New York with a diverse background, enriched by my upbringing in Israel, Winnipeg, Canada, and Boston, USA. Art has been a central part of my life from an early age. I graduated with a BFA in Sculpture and Painting from the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem in 1984 and was honored to receive an America-Israel Cultural Foundation grant in 1983.

In 1993, as a dual citizen of the United States and Israel, I relocated to New York to further my artistic practice. Over the years, I have had the privilege of lecturing on the history of Israeli art and my own work at various prestigious institutions, including the San Francisco Library as part of the Scholar in Residence Series, as well as at San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, and the University of California, Berkeley.

Aside from being a practicing artist, I have held part-time positions at the Tate Americas Foundation (American Patrons of Tate) and worked as a private art instructor and art educator in New York City, Brooklyn, and Jerusalem. My teaching experience spans community centers, public and private schools, and various institutions.

Currently, I devote myself full-time to my artistic practice, having recently relocated my studio from Brooklyn to a larger space in Long Beach, NY. My art has been showcased in over 70 group exhibitions in galleries and museums, and I have held seven solo shows in the US, Israel, and Germany. My work has received honorable mentions and critic's awards, and it is featured in numerous private collections.
