Emily' paintings reflect her life's experiences gleaned from the unconscious. Color is of supreme importance to her work, as is spontaneity. By applying thick slabs of acrylic or thin washes of watercolor, her intention is to penetrate the numbing barriers society continually erects; to entice the viewer towards a voyage of self discovery.
Emily was born in Mexico and has lived in South America, Europe, Asia and the U.S. She has a BA in Art History from Tulane University and studied at The Art Students League with William Scharf and Anthony Palumbo. Her work has been shown across the U.S. and abroad and is included in many private collections.
