I’ve had an avid interest in oil painting, drawing and photography from a very young age. I was fortunate to have a family that appreciated the arts in all their forms. My mother through music and my brothers through art and design. Upon graduation from high school, I was awarded an art scholarship to attend St. Petersburg Junior College (Clearwater, FL). I then went on to earn my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL) in 1996.
A couple of years after college, I finally had the opportunity to travel to Europe. My fiancée and I spent a week in Paris. This was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life - finally being able to see museums filled and dedicated to the art that I had studied and admired for years – and had only been able to see in textbooks. That one-week has meant more to me in terms of my artistic growth and direction than my last two years at college.
