JERRY GANT

Jerry Gant is a visual artist whose signature murals can be found in large urban centers including Newark, New York, Boston and London. With roots in graffiti culture, he works in canvas, metal, wood, fabric and wire. Jerry has been an influential figure on the Newark arts scene for over 20 years. The viral quality of his imagery allows it to move between the street and the gallery. Visitors to his exhibitions immediately recognize design motifs they may have seen on the back of a jacket, on the side of a building or epitomized in sculpture. ??His public art commissions include Verizon's How Sweet The Sound mural project and The Trust for Public Land - Nat Turner Park Sculpture works, both in Newark, NJ. Jerry is also the subject of a new documentary film entitled The Gantalist: The Art of Being Jerry Gant.
