Gayle Nichols began oil painting in Denver in the 1960's and developed printmaking skills prior to receiving a Colorado teaching certificate in 1975. She combined teaching and traveling; the color and culture of Latin America strongly influenced her popular paintings which have been exhibited internationally and included in many local group gallery exhibitions.
In 1985 Gayle was honored to have her painting "Man At Table" included in the AMERICAN ALBUM exhibit which was presented at the United Nations World Conference on Women in Nairobi, Kenya. The exhibit is now part of the permanent collection in the Library and Research Center of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC.
