Paula Goldman

After receiving my BFA from the University of Michigan School of Art, I relocated to Houston, Texas, where I became a founding member of the Houston Center for Photography. I received an MFA in photography from the California Institute of the Arts.

Exhibitions and publications include the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art; the LACE Annuale, Los Angeles, CA; Px3, Paris (prize, Nature); G2 Gallery, Los Angeles; The World From Here, UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Time Capsule, Creative Time, NYC; Photometro, San Francisco; the Houston Center for Photography; Framework, LACPS, Los Angeles; and Women and Their Work, Austin. I have produced public art installations for the city of Santa Monica, CA, and in Seattle, for the King County Metro City Panorama project. My work is in various private collections; the Museum of Fine Art, Houston; and Metro Art/MTA, Los Angeles.

I teach photography in various programs around the Los Angeles area, including long-term appointments at the University of California, Riverside; the University of Southern California; and UCLA Extension. I have also worked commercially for MOCA, LA; PaceWildenstein Gallery; and the USC Doheny Library; among other museums, galleries, and libraries.

I live, work, and teach in Los Angeles, CA.
