Gulnaz Turdalieva was born in 1967 in Angren, Uzbekistan. She received her B.A. in Architecture in 1989 from Tashkent Institute of Technology (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) and her D.E.C. in Illustration and Design from Dawson College (Montreal, Canada). In 2007, she moved to Windsor and has been actively involved in local art community events. Turdalieva exhibited at different venues in Windsor Essex including Artspeak Gallery (solo and group exhibitions), SB Contemporary Gallery(group exhibitions), Gibson Gallery(group exhibitions), Mackenzie Hall (group exhibitions), and was a 2012 recipient of Ontario Arts Council Exhibition Assistance Grant. Her acrylic paintings explore the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, based on our assumptions of what landscape/memory of it means to us. She combines the traditional medium of painting with digital arts in order to explore landscape, nostalgia and femininity. Gulnaz Turdalieva currently lives and works in Windsor, Ontario
