Heidi Lippman has experimented throughout her career with non-traditional media: lead, drywall, terrazzo, mosaic and most recently glass. She is currently focusing her attention on large-scale site specific permanent installations which can be seen in many high profile public venues, including BWI Marshall Airport, New Carrollton Transportation hub, Rockville Town Center Library and the Baltimore Hilton Harbor Hotel. Her aim is not only to create works of beauty but also to conjure up symbolic meanings, stretching imagination whereby one might find infinite interpretations.

Growing up in New York City she studied at painting at American University, Washington DC and California College of Arts, earning an MFA from Claremont Graduate University in Southern California. While teaching at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, she was awarded a Ford Foundation Grant. A founding member of the Washington Sculptors’ Group she has lectured and taught at colleges and universities throughout the U.S. Dozens of articles have appeared concerning Heidi Lippman’s work in regional and national publications (Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, Metropolis, Urban Land, Sculpture Magazine, etc.). Her art has appeared in numerous one person exhibits in Germany, Italy, New York and Washington D.C., as well as group exhibits in Virginia, Maryland, New York, Washington D.C. and California. Her work is commissioned both privately and publicly.
