Claudia Chapline is an international artist whose work has been shown in museums and galleries throughout the USA, in Europe, Asia and Latin America. She received the 2007 Lifetime Acheivement Award from the Northern California Women's Caucus for Art. She has been an artists in residence at the DeYoung Museum and Recology in San Francisco; ArtBoat in Seadrift, Texas; and Radisson Hotel, Antigua, Guatemala. Her paintings and assemblages honor the natural environment and comment on its destruction. Her recent "Spill" series is a comment on oil spills. Her figurative work expresses positive female energy with figures in motion and fused with the natural environment. Her expressionistic landscape patintings help to raise funds for environmental causes. She is also a published writer whose drawings have been included in a number of publications. She lectures frequently on her work.
