jacqueline roch

Jacqueline Roch is nationally recognized for her work in the dynamic medium of pastel.
A purist at heart, her larger than life drawings attempt to bring a close up look at the beauty that surrounds us every day and is often taken for granted. Color and composition play an integral part in her work. Her work can best be described as Tropical Realism.
A graduate of the University of Miami with a BFA in graphic design, she moved to NYC to pursue her career in advertising but was soon missing her native south florida sun.
She continued her education and recieved both a Masters and Specialist degree in Art Education from Florida International University. She then taught in the school system until the birth of her first son in 1998 and that led her to the discovery of pastels. Since her first exhibition in 1997, Jacqueline has won a myriad of awards both nationally and in her state of Florida where she continues to work and live with her husband and 4 sons. She has been selected for several art festival posters across the state, has appeared in the pastel journal, strokes of genius #5 to name just a few of her many accolades. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, Southeastern Pastel Society, American Impressionist Society and the National Association of Women Artists. Today she is a resident artist at the historic Bakehouse Art complex in the Wynwood Arts district of Miami, Florida
