Julie Gross

I was born in Montreal, Canada..attained US Citizenship at 18 years of age. Received BFA from Pratt Institute, MA from Hunter
College. First solo exhibition was in 1974.I have had 11 solo exhibitions of my work, and participated in numerous group shows. See bio on website. I have done extensive teaching, including at Rhode Island School of Design, Syracuse University, Hunter College. I've travelled in Europe & Asia. Asian travel included academic consulting stints in Seoul, Korea & Kanazawa, Japan and teaching in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Currently
I teach @ Parsons School of Design & Fashion Institute of Technology. I have received numerous grants: NYFA, NEA & Pollock/Krasner, as well as working fellowships at Yaddo, Macdowell, Albee Foundation, VCCA & others.My studio is in the Chelsea district in NYC. I am currently working on oil on linen paintings. Please see website for current work.
