Jay Gaskill creates vibrant paintings that are a synthesis of abstraction, pop art, design, and popular imagery. Jay was raised in suburban Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C. He received his education in New York City, first studying painting as an undergraduate at the School of Visual Arts, and then later in the MFA program at Hunter College. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central America. His paintings have been exhibited in several group shows in the New York City area, as well as in Baltimore, Seattle, and Vienna, Austria. He had his first solo show at One River Gallery in New Jersey in 2014. Jay lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
