??Jessica Brackett is an exhibiting artist based in Portland, Oregon. She received her BFA in Painting and Art History from the Kansas City Art Institute. In her latest work, she explores themes of longing, failure, and psychological pain through flower cuttings, insects, fishes, and puddles. She enjoys taking a subject, such as still life paintings of flowers, and manipulating it while keeping its initial draw of beauty and craft. She enjoys falsifying the familiar, and subverting the known.
