John Moran is a bi-national politically and socially engaged hot glass sculptor, mixed media artist, and all around nice guy. He is an American-Belgian currently living and working in Ghent, Belgium. He has traveled immensely across Europe and spent a year and a half living in China in 2004. Though he does not consider himself an academic, he has the accolades that say otherwise. He attained his BFA from Tyler School of Art, MFA from Illinois State University, and in 2021, his PhD from The Geppert Academy of Art and Design. He enjoys traveling, talking about art, good food, and drinks with friends. In 2022, he participated in and won Blown Away Season 3, Netflix's competitive reality tv show focused on glass making. He has exhibited across Europe at the United States at prestigious galleries and institutions such as SIC! Gallery at BWA Galleries of Contemporary Art Wroclaw, MusVerre, GlasMuseet Ebeltoft, Habatat Galleries of Fine Art, Delaware Contemporary, The Hodge Gallery at the Pittsburgh Glass Center, and STARworks NC.
