Ré Phillips, an Atlanta, Georgia native, is an artist-scholar, international performer, and conceptual abstract painter who is actively engaged and involved in both producing art and analyzing it.

Ré engages in multiple artistic mediums well. She is a self-taught painter with whose work has been exhibited at universities, libraries, and galleries over the course of the past 6 years. Her artwork is informed by her experiences as a cultural envoy for the US Department of State in 2007 and 2011 and as an artist-scholar performing sacred Black music and theater with the National Theatre Company of China, the National Theatre of Uganda and the Palestinian National Theatre. Ré has also worked in communities across South Africa and Sierra Leone. Of particular relevance to her work is the history, culture & politics of the global African diaspora.

She is also a performer who has toured the world with her voice (South Africa, Uganda, Cuba, China, and soon Palestine). She has performed for the US Ambassador to China, Oprah Winfrey, Helen Bing, Stanford University President John Hennessey, Susan Rice, Maldives Vice President Dr. Moahamed Waheed Hassan, 112, and TLC. She has shared the stage and performed with grammy award winning artist Dwele, Day 26, and the Roots.
