Karen is a painter working in acrylic, oil and gouache. A bit of a world traveler, she was born in Hawaii, lived in the West growing up then throughout the US and Germany while serving in the Army, before settling in the Colorado Rockies. She works to capture the sense of a place, the spirit and personality of an animal, the beauty of light and shadow. Karen's choice of subjects is varied, influenced by the beauty of the mountains, her love of horses and growing up as a rural farm kid.
