Kylie Heidenheimer

Kylie Heidenheimer (b. Gainesville, Florida) interweaves density and atmosphere in her abstract paintings. As she works, qualities of contrasting elements come into being, resulting in diaphanous, tension-filled pieces. Heidenheimer has a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA from Hunter College in New York CIty. Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Gallery 532 Thomas Jaeckel, NYC, Galerie Gris, Hudson, NY, Ohio Northern University, Ada, OH, The Italian Academy at Columbia University, NYC and J.C. Flowers, NYC. She has participated in group exhibitions at Private Public Gallery, Hudson, NY, Zürcher Gallery, NYC, 56 Henry, NYC (organized by Joanne Greenbaum), Waterhouse & Dodd Gallery, NYC, O’Flaherty’s, NYC, UT Knoxville, TN and the Irwin J. Miller School of Architecture, Columbus, IN.

Heidenheimer attended Yaddo as a Janet Sloane Resident in February 2020. She was also a resident at Yaddo in 2016 and one prior at Blue Mountain Center, The Millay Colony, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts as well as elsewhere. She won a Mercedes Matter Alumni Award in 2021 and a Jason McCoy Gallery Drawing Challenge in 2020. The New York Times has cited her work. She lives and works in New York City.
