Kristen Hotham Carroll

Kristen Hotham Carroll is a New England native, relocated to Key West in 2010. A self taught artist, Kristen’s work is full of energy and movement. Her style is very free and open, and she often paints with tools other than paint brushes. From finger painting to palette knives, she loves to be immersed in her creations. In addition to painting on canvas, she also paints on found objects, giving a new life to something that may have otherwise served its purpose. Kristen paints with the vitality by which she lives her life.

Currently Kristen is working on a 52 piece series dedicated to the study of the male and female figures. Each collection of 26 pieces will be named alphabetically, and each male and female pair will be created through a utilizing a unique and different technique. In March 2011, the first pieces of this collection were shown at Wet Paint Gallery, and the completed series will be on display throughout 2011 and early 2012.
