Katie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2009. She has participated in artist residencies at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT and Gallery Four in Baltimore, MD, where she was also a co-curator. Katie recently finished a 3-year residency at the Creative Alliance in Baltimore, MD.

Katie is also a long-distance, open water swimmer, which often influences and drives her work. Katie successfully completed a solo crossing of the English Channel, finishing the swim in 14 hours 19 minutes on August 7, 2015.

Her recent work explores movement, competitive roles, and instincts through large-scale paintings and drawings. Katie lives and works in Washington, DC.
