Michele Leavitt

As a professional artist I've enjoyed a life time of creative expression. Making art became my primary interest even before starting school. The fascination and need to do so has never faded. My work has been selected for group, solo, and traveling exhibitions for many years within my region and lately further. A piece that was exhibited in Lithuania for Art in Embassies made my work international. Presently I teach drawing for the students at CCRI and, RISD Pre-college. Other institutions employing me as an art instructor include Cornell, Ithaca College, and State University of New York. Late last year I opened a new little business, Art Works Wonders, Unlimited providing art classes and art history talks for residents of assisted living communities in RI.

At the Rochester Institute of Technology I earned a BFA in Art and Design, later at Cornell I earned my MFA degree in painting.

Currently I live and work in southern Rhode island.
