Lynn Ubell

Lynn was born in New York City and grew up on Long Island. After receiving her MFA in painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, she returned to the city. She became a graphic designer and started her own ad agency, bearing her name. After 30 years, she sold her business and became a teacher with the New City Department of Education, where she taught non-verbal students with special needs how to express themselves through art. Upon retiring in 2022, she returned to her studio where she paints full time. She has exhibited in shows in NYC and throughout the region as well as participated in School of Visual Arts Artist Residency and upcoming residencies at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and Vermont Studio Center.
