Lynn Manos is a Tampa-based visual artist working with a variety of media including painting, printmaking, drawing and video. Her practice consistently focuses on her personal fascination with water, color and light. Lynn is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a BFA degree in Fashion Illustration and Design, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City with an MA in Printmaking. She taught in the Kansas City area for over 30 years. She relocated to Tampa, Florida in 2006. Lynn taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa from 2010-2016. Currently, she serves on the Public Art Commission for the City of Tampa.
Lynn was chosen for an August 2019 Artist Residency at The Morris Graves Foundation, in Loleta, CA. She was a resident artist at Zea Mays Printmaking in Northampton, MA in June 2019 and 2018. She completed month-long residencies at the Scoula Graphic Internationale in Venice, Italy in May 2015, and in July 2013, 2011, 2010, and 2009. She received 2018 and 2009 Individual Artist Grants from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and a 2014 Creative Capital Foundation Professional Development Workshop Grant for the State of Florida. Lynn completed a September 2006 residency at Skopart on Skopelos, Greece that was funded by a Lighton International Artists Exchange Grant. She returned in May 2008 for another month-long residency.
Upcoming residencies include a July trip back to Zea Mays to work in their private printmaking studio.
