I am principally a fiber artist – an art quilter -- who also paints and makes things. I began taking art lessons as a child and have sporadically continued throughout my life dabbling in a variety of media and craft while working for the federal government and teaching at universities. Color is my motivator, interesting design my challenge.
My art quilts part of collections at George Washington University Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, The World Bank, The International Monetary Fund, as well as in corporate and private collections.
Four quilts have been featured in books: “Dare to Dance – An Art Quilt Challenge” by Mary Kerr, and “Fly Me To The Moon – An Art Quilt Journey” by Susanne Jones.
My work has been exhibited at a variety of venues around the U.S. including The Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Va., The Studios of Key West in Key West, Fla., and a number of major regional quilt shows including the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, the West Virginia Quilt Festival and the Denver National Quilt Festival.
