Miles Bair was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He studied art at Edinboro University and West Virginia University. Miles taught painting and was the director of the School of Art, for three decades, at Illinois Wesleyan University. He has exhibited widely including the Mary Bell Gallery in Chicago, University of Wisconsin-Madison, McLean County Arts Center, Carole Jones Gallery in Chicago, One Illinois Center Boulevard Towers in Chicago, Anderson and Anderson Gallery in Minneapolis, East/West Contemporary Art Gallery in Chicago, Kansas State University Gallery, Naperville Art Association, C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago, Lloyd Shin Gallery in Chicago, Rosenthal Museum in Idaho, Drake University Gallery, Tokyo International Art Exposition, Charles A. Wustum Museum in Racine, Lakeview Museum in Peoria, Locus Gallery in Saint Louis and the Chicago Public Library Cultural Center. Miles had a solo exhibition at the Neville Museum in Green Bay in February 2011. Miles also has a solo exhibition at the Dubuque Art Museum in August 2012. He has been a visiting artist at a number of major American universities and at the Tama Art University and J. F. Oberin University in Japan. Miles work is represented by Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Wisconsin, Duane Reed Gallery in Saint Louis, Hagen Gallery in Asheville, Marshall Gallery of Fine Art in Scottsdale and Melissa Morgan in Palm Desert, California. Miles' paintings are in the Mayo Foundation Collection in Rochester, Minnesota.
