Matthew Bourbon

Matthew Bourbon is an artist and writer. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Bourbon earned separate undergraduate degrees in Studio Art and Art History from the University of California at Davis. While at U.C. Davis, he worked with Wayne Thiebaud, Roy DeForest, Manuel Neri, and Squeak Carnwath. Relocating to New York, Bourbon earned his Masters of Fine Arts degree from the School of Visual Arts. At S.V.A. he worked closely with Jake Berthot, Suzanne Mclelland and art critic, Jerry Saltz. Bourbon’s art is exhibited nationally and internationally. He is currently an Associate Professor of Art at the University of North Texas and is also an acitve art critc publishing in ArtForum Online, Flashart, ArtNews, New York Arts and Glasstire.
