Mark and Diane Weisbeck

Husband and wife international award winning sculpture team, Mark and Diane Weisbeck are native New Yorkers. The Weisbecks were the only artists in the world invited by the government of China to represent New York State in the Beijing, China Olympics Landscape Sculpture Competition. The Weisbeck's sculpture design, “The Celebration of Ren,” (people), was voted on by the citizens of China and won the prestigious “Excellent Works” Award. The Weisbecks are true ART Olympians!

Mark and Diane have been commissioned to create large scale public sculptures for the New York State Department of Transportation and the New York State Department of State. (Commissioned at $100,000.00 and $70,000.00 respectively.) To create these major sculpture installations they dialogued with citizens within the community, architects, local and state government officials, contractors, business leaders, structural engineers and all commissioning bodies.

The Weisbecks have also worked to create permanent sculptures with art students. They spent a weekend with all 65 of the Irondequoit, NY High School senior art students and collaborated together to create a 10 foot tall modern aluminum sculpture, which each student worked on. The sculpture now stands in the school library, after a ribbon cutting ceremony complete with a printed program, music, speeches, and refreshments, all organized by the students.

Other major works have been designed and created for the government of China as well as the hospitality and healthcare industries. Interior and exterior wall mounted metal wall sculptures and large scale public works are specialties.

The Weisbeck's new 3-D wall sculpture, “Visibility Unlimited” won the BEST PRODUCT of 2015, announced by the Design Journal in February, 2016. Crafted using reclaimed, retro 1950's jet planes which were actually car hood ornaments.

The Weisbecks have also won awards for their new concept in directional signage, called ART-SIGNS. A blend of sculpture and way-finding, these artistic signs combine branding, sculpture and art.
