Postcards sent and saved from 1960’s and 70’s Middle American vacations form the
illusionary foundation for my photographic art. These pictures create an uneasy
tension between truth and fiction. They cite artifacts from the time, such as roadside
motels and vacation destinations that refer to memories of family journeys. The
journeys are mixed with dreamlike symbolism to create ironic images that go beyond memory. They are staged dramas communicating the loneliness and alienation that accompanies the American dream.

I received my BFA degree from the College of Santa Fe, Santa Fe, New Mexico in
1993. Upon relocating to New York City in 1994, I continued an artistic career and
gained first-hand experience through assisting a number of accomplished, New York artists such as Petah Coyne, Carol Hepper, and Donna Dennis. From 2001 – 2010, my artwork was represented by the Laurence Miller Gallery, New York City. Projects with the gallery included two solo exhibitions of photo-based prints, Wish You Were Here (2001), and Are We There Yet?(2003), as well as the publication of the limited edition portfolio Last Resort (2005). My images have been exhibited in various US and European galleries, as well as such art fairs as Art Basel, Paris Photo, ADAA, ARCO and Art Miami. My work has been purchased and collected by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Norton Museum of Art, Palm Beach, Florida, The George Eastman House, Rochester, New York, and the Progressive Corporate Collection. I currently live and work in Brooklyn, New York.
