Monique Seyler was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on December 3, 1956.
After graduating from Seton Hall University in 1979 with an honors degree in Asian Studies, Monique worked as a freelance China Hand (a Mandarin-speaking liaison) for various corporations, non-profit and governmental organizations.
Between stints overseas, Monique nurtured her interest in art and attended the Art Students League and School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Her acrylic and pastel works on paper have been widely exhibited and can be found in the permanent collection of the Zimmerli Museum at Rutgers University.
From 2003 to 2014 Monique founded and operated Gallery Saint Martin, a 'Salon' style exhibition space featuring her work and the work of other artists. The Gallery regularly participated in numerous benefits and was cited among the top art venues in Philadelphia.
Monique resides in Sarasota, Florida with her husband, Chet Zoltak. They have two adult children, Danielle and Matthew and a granddaughter, Ella.

“China Nights,” a magic realist novel by Monique is agented by TriadaUS.
