Niamh Butler was born and raised in Montrose, New York; throughout her years there she was consistently encouraged to pursue her dream of having a successful career in the arts. As a sophomore in High School, she received special acceptance into the Westchester Community College Art Workshop to study under artist Andrew Lattimore, who highly recommended traditional training at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. During her studies at the Lyme Academy, her work was included in various exhibitions at galleries in New York, Connecticut, and other Northeastern states; in 2011, she received her B.F.A. in Drawing. Butler's work was most recently exhibited at the Eastern Fairfield County's 21st Annual Art Show and is currently represented by the Cooley Gallery in Old Lyme. As she has recently graduated from the Intensive Drawing Program at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, she is now living and working in New York.
