Pamela Hoke

Artist Pamela Hoke is known for her unique approach of infusing bold color into her magnified, potent compositions, each naturally emitting a personality of their own. A BFA from Ohio State University, Pam's art, just like her own personality, radiates with a positive flow of expressive energy. From portraying actual sea turtles she has met to painting endangered plant and floral species into compelling and unique works of art, she also uses stories of her painting journeys to help infuse a sense of action for specific projects - such as deepening our connection with our oceans to keep them healthy, exemplifying the importance of nurturing the creative spirit in ourselves and our children in order to lead.

She has exhibited in multiple galleries from Ohio through Florida, and is currently a resident studio artist at the Fish House Art Center in Port Salerno, FL. Her creative career began as a professional mural artist, and progressed to corporate presentation specialist for major retail headquarters, to serve as high school art teacher for 5 years, and chief of brand strategy and design for her own company. Her philonthropic endeavors are large and include 5 year member of Soroptimist International of Stuart, serving on the board and other local non-profit advisory boards such as Alzheimer's Community Care, Pinewood Elementary PTA, SeaWind Elementary PTA, Port Salerno Community Promotions, volunteering for Pink Tie Friends, and multiple non-profit organizations, along with regular art donations to hundreds of silent auctions and charity benefits - in particular environmental organizations such as Blue Ocean Institute, Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Dolphin Research Center, and Ocean River Institute.

Her focus is on florals and fauna, yet she embraces her obsession with nature in general. Any subject that exemplifies the human relationship with earth: beyond plants and wildlife, yet also fantasy and inspirational to simple fruits, vegetables, and still life scenes. Whatever helps her communicate and create an emotional connection to our daily lives and respect for our beautiful earth. She thrives on creating an emotional connection through her art for causes she feels strongly about. She fully utilizes her background in journalism and owning and operating her own design and marketing company to continue her passionate mission through her art - primarily inspiring others to follow their passion in life.

Her primary medium is oil, yet she also seizes her whimsical, often humorous view of life with watercolors, and recently emulated her oil style utilizing acrylics. She has discovered her own comfort zone in all three realms. Her palette is steady within all mediums, yet flexible according to mood. Her artwork presentts brushstrokes of serenity and movement, combined with energy of sharp contrasting edges. Her artwork boldly creates a journey from the heart, and draws attention through the exaggeration of the simple, often unnoticed treasures in today’s busy world. She is simply inspired to inspire.

Her love affair with her environment and life, combined with the confidence and freedom she experiences in the creative process is evident as each piece consistently places emphasis on the simple and provides a powerful, expressive window into her feeling of her subjects. Her viewers sense this freedom and passion due to her non-traditional approach of taking extreme creative liberties regarding color, light, shape, and contrast, and experience art that borders between surrealism and expressionism.
