Matthew Sproul

I was born in Massachusetts in 1960 and grew up in Newport, Oregon where I graduated from high school in 1978. After attending Oregon State University in 1978-1979, I worked as a tree planter and banquet waiter. I went to the University of Oregon from 1984-1987 prior to moving Portland, Oregon in 1988 where I have since resided.

I began taking pictures in 2002 and started drawing in 2010. I have had 8 exhibits; 3 solo, 1 juried solo exhibit. I draw text-based pictures and make mixed media collage. My most recent exhibit was in Paragon Arts Gallery of Portland Community College during February and March, 2020. Link: cascadegallery@pcc.edu
