Raija Jokinen made her Master of Arts degree at the University of Art and Design 1990 (now Aalto University). She has always been fucused on fibers and textile arts and before her degree in arts she studied weaving at the Vihti Craft School
Jokinen has been active in exhibiting her art works and she's been participating to some 200 exhibitions in Finland and abroad since 1990.
She had 17 solo exhibitions and 22 works in public or corporate premises and 6 honorable mentions and prizes from abroad. Year 2015 she was awarded regional art prize of Helsinki area.
In addition she has positions of trust and working groups in art related associations. Other professional activities are numerous lectures in Finland and abroad. Besides her art work she's been teaching and made designs for textiles.
