“Painting is walking a tightrope between intuition and control. If I paint only on intuition, I sacrifice the quality of the work. If I focus only on the quality of the work, it becomes mechanical.”

He has lived, painted and exhibited on the Silver Coast of the Portuguese mainland. His current residence is in the historic seacoast town of Fairhaven on the South Coast of Massachusetts.

Ron Fortier has participated in various group and individual exhibitions in the United States. His work is represented in various private collections.
