I am a California Central Valley Artist. I have been painting for over 35 years and creating new images that communicate specific ideology. Born and raised in the central valley my heritage and beliefs appear in my work. I am a Mexican – American artist that tries to have its on voice and make work that transcends a label like Chicano artist or Abstract artist. I create to create and bring new images to life.

ART STATEMENT

At the core of my work is a great respect and appreciation of the human figure.
The human body holds many secretes, and can express various views and ideas.
My painting surround themselves with figure form, they embody every aspect of my work. The figures, in my paintings, reflect all my life experiences, my traditions, my culture of being a Mexican – American.

This is why my work is personal spiritual journey where I respond to question of time , our reality and what is understood and believed. The figures are created by the religious connotations developed from my strong Mexican Heritage. The symbols are so powerful that they capture imagery that is universal.
