Gary Cadwallader received a BA in Art from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 1972. He was a computer programmer for most of his life although he continued to paint part-time. In 2011 he became serious about painting and has exhibited widely since then. He is a signature member of the Missouri Watercolor Society and the Watercolor Honor Society. Since 2011 he has earned nine Best in Show awards, two People’s Choice awards, a purchase prize from the Missouri State Fair, and multiple juried acceptances including the Missouri Watercolor International, the Kansas Watercolor National, the River Market Regional, the Heartland Artists Exhibition, Missouri 50, and Watercolor USA. In 2016 he was awarded a fellowship in ArtistINC KC. In February 2017 he was featured in a Missouri Life article: Passion Meets Reality. In 2018 he was elected to the board of the Watercolor Honor Society and is the editor of their newsletter.
